What is an Activator Adjustment?

“The Activator Method is considered the gentlest, safest, and most effective instrument adjusting technique for all ages.”

An Activator adjustment is distinguished by two things. 1) A gentle adjusting instrument called an Activator is used to manipulate dysfunctional joints. 2) A specific assessment procedure, using leg-length analysis, determines where, when and when not to perform an adjustment.

Although many Chiropractors utilize an Activator instrument, this does not mean they are adjusting using the “Activator Methods Technique”. The difference comes down to the analysis for where/where not to adjust and the execution of the adjustment.

Why get adjusted Activator Methods?

Chiropractic adjustments are based on the premise that dysfunctional spinal joints create nervous system interference that can disrupt overall health and homeostasis. Removal of this interference allows the nervous system to function at 100% so the body can heal itself and restore optimal health and vitality. At North Point Chiropractic we acknowledge the everybody is different and therefore has different needs when it comes to their chiropractic care.  Your adjustments will be based on what the doctors feel will produce the fastest and most long lasting results.

Using Activator Methods allows the doctors to adjust the dysfunctional joints, called subluxations, in a very specific and gentle manner.  With these adjustments, the Activator instrument avoids any manual manipulation and creates a thorough, but minimally invasive correction. We find in our office that most practice members get faster and more long lasting results when we can analyze and adjust with the specificity provided by our advanced certifications in Activator Methods.

“The Activator Method is one of the most widely-researched chiropractic techniques and the only instrument adjusting technique with 23 clinical trials to support its efficacy. Activator Methods has published hundreds of clinical and scientific peer-reviewed papers, worked with major academic research institutions, and received grants from recognized entities like the National Institutes of Health.” (Activator.com/research/)
